Growing density
The Rim - University area continues to grow with indications of surging congestion, daily commuters and increased traffic due to the growing university, hospital expansions and popular area businesses.
Safety Issues:
increased activity by non-residents creates an environment for criminal activity
no safe curb walking for pedestrians
reduced visibility for residents and visitors
increasing accidents
Non-Resident parking
Concerns about parking for residents and non-residents becomes an increasing issue that has not been adequately addressed.
Parking issues:
traditional older streets don't allow for parking and driving
prohibits public services from access
increased dangers to residents, children and pedestrian commuters
Littering & vandalism
In recent years the area has had to address episodes of rising theft and vandalism coupled with trash and litter that appears to be without a plan or solution.
